 ICS – Technical Service is responsible for the provision, installation and maintenance of AV equipment in almost 400 common teaching venues on the 5 UKZN campuses.  Lecture theatre support includes regular maintenance to equipment, and technical support where technicians respond immediately to any problem experienced with equipment to minimise any down time.  A central helpdesk coordinates all call outs, using sophisticated control systems to maintain and control equipment in venues. You can email avcallcentre@ukzn.ac.za or phone Ext. : 4000 for immediate assistance with equipment in teaching venues. 

These systems, installed in several lecture venues, use an IP intercom for instant technical support. Users may also report faults by calling the emergency number posted in lecture venues for after hours callout and support. 

Fixed podium microphones, wireless lapel microphones, overhead projectors, screens, slide and film projectors, PA Systems and data projectors are permanently installed in many teaching venues.
