    Scholarly Publishing

Research becomes valuable when it is published and accessible to others.  Online facilities based on the Public Knowledge Projects Open Source software are available to University of KwaZulu-Natal researchers for publishing journals and for conference management.  Open Journals@UKZN allows one to manage all aspects of journal publication including content, subscriptions, and publication.  Open Conferences@UKZN provides means to create conference websites and to manage all aspects of conferences including submissions and registrations.  Please contact Martin Voges if you would like to make use of the facilities.

    Academic Online Surveys

A facility is available for creating and conducting academic research surveys online.  The web service is based on the Open Source LimeSurvey software and has recently been updated to take advantage of improved question types and construction as well as better data management features offered by the latest version. The facility is maintained by Academic Computing.  Academics, researchers, and postgraduates who would like to use this research instrument should please contact Martin Voges.
