Mr Anandhin (Duncan) Naidoo

On the 16th of April 2022, after a short illness, ICS lost a bold and brave friend and colleague.

Anandhin (Duncan) Naidoo has served the Institution since August 1990. He worked at the EG Malherbe library for 28 years as a Library Officer and then joined the ICS Division as a User Support Consultant in January 2018. He was a loyal and committed employee of the Institution and we would like to pay a tribute in his honour.

Please join us in celebrating his life by sharing memories of Duncan.

Duncan was a great colleague with an exceptional work ethic and was friendly and loving to everyone.I wish you farewell in your journey to eternity. Rest in peace, buddy.” Handsome Nyathikazi

I was not as close to Duncan as some of my colleagues but had several opportunities to interact with him. Duncan was always willing to help and had an approachable and accommodating demeanor. We would share the occasional joke in the corridor, and he was always pleasant. It is a significant loss to the division. I wish his family get a sense of the type of person he was ..Vasu Chetty

“It was an absolute pleasure to work with you. You were so enthusiastic on the projects we worked on and was always willing to go the extra mile. Your time on this earth might have been short but your influence lives on in me” Shiran Singh

I was deeply saddened by the passing on of our dear colleague Duncan.  He was a friendly, pleasant and kind person.  Never one to shy away from work and always willing to take on new tasks.  I remember him taking on SharePoint from me without hesitating yet this being something new to him.   And when he needed to find out something he will be so apologetic for disturbing me.  A true gentleman.  Rest in eternal peace my dear friend.  Sandra Naicker

“Duncan’s great personality will always be missed as he was always willing to assist with a smile and never complained. Rest in peace.” Sibusiso Shezi

Dear ICS,

A sad day, indeed

I have come to know that your good colleague, Mr Anandhin, has departed on the 16th and in the absence of any further details of an ICS contact person, I take the liberty of writing to each of you, as you all worked harmoniously with Mr Anandhin Naidoo and are in a state of mourning following the sudden loss of dear Duncan. I appreciate you sharing your grief with me.

Indeed, a sad loss.  I will be grateful if you will please accept and kindly convey our sincere condolences to Mrs Patricia, Robyn, Ethan and the rest of Mr Anandhin Naidoo’s family, on the passing on of dear Duncan, who will be greatly missed. I knew him from the library days and over the past few years as the “Buck Stops” person in IT Help Desk, at Howard College Campus.

May the Lord grant the Naidoo family, solace during the period of bereavement.  Prof Hoosen & Vanesa Vawda

Duncan’s passing has left me with a lesson to not hold back in giving compliments and commend someone for a job well done. I am grateful for the opportunity I had, to talk to Duncan about what I saw in him as a colleague and I got to tell him what was in my heart whilst he was alive. He truly was a brave and a very interesting, funny guy to engage with. His humility left me humbled, Duncan saw me as his colleague, corrected me with respect when I made a mistake. He truly left a mark and a beautiful message that will linger in my heart for a very long time. I will miss him and the coffee he repeatedly delivered.  Rest in Peace Dee: Mpume K

Thank You for all the years we worked together, and I will miss the chats we had during coffee breaks and in the office. It was a great pleasure to work with you. I will miss your work ethic and your integrity. Till we meet again, rest well, buddy. Heaven couldn’t wait. Zee

I am so saddened by the passing of the gentleman Duncan. I have known Duncan when he was still working at the Library as a Client (very kind) and in 2018 he joined us at ICS and he was sitting just 1 desk away from mine. He was a very brilliant man as when I was assisting him with something, I will not repeat it to him as he will get it at once. Just this January we were given new laptops on the same day and when we were setting them up, we were asking each other “have you installed this or that”?  Little did I know that he will be one in just 2 months after he will be gone. I will miss his words of wisdom he imparted to me and chatting on WhatsApp when I told him about his expensive favorite coffee Douwe Egberts being on special. See you in the morning. Matu
